Great walk today, we got a later start out of our comfie apartment then we wanted to but it was so worth it. Today had some great views as we walked some sections known as the " Royal Way".
The girls got excited to see a boat called "Narwhale"
This structure is how the corn was traditionally kept in the area, I believe they are protected and required to be preserved and saved.
Lunch on Vegas beach...
We would stop in La Isla for the night, I stayed here almost three years ago with Benjamin and Sebastian and it brought back great memories.
Two and a half years ago I would arrive with my shoes caked in mud, today not so much, but this is a picture of some of the difficult walk ...
Oh No a mutiny they just stopped and plopped themselves down:)...honestly though not once, not even once has anyone suggested they don't want walk for a day or be here...
And up...
Several pilgrims here tonight which has made it fun. A group of twenty/ thirty year old guys, Bret the photographer from New Zealand and later in the evening a super sweet young twenty something year old girl from Lithuania nicknamed Aqua. She camps
out too but shared with seconds of meeting her that she just wanted to get this Camino done with that she was in love with a guy she met two weeks before and they were going to spend their lives traveling the World. They are buying a van her father
is a carpenter and is going to outfit it with a bed and make it livable and they were off. Her enthusiasm was sweet. I'm a huge Camino lover and even hint to me you want to do it and I'll help you start planning but I told her directly
that if she didn't wan to be on the Camino at this moment that it would be here later for her. I really liked her, loved her spirit, her enthusiasm for life and understood her young love.
An amazing thing happened tonight she brought out postcards that she had painted along the way of her Norte. We, of course, recognized almost every image she had painted and appreciated the same beauty in what she captured as she did. Well a small back
story, Bronwyn brought a dream catcher with her on this trip that we had hung over her crib when she was a baby and I was expecting her. Bronwyn in the last twenty four hours has claimed she has lost it ( though I am still hoping she has it somewhere
in her bag). Well Aqua told everyone to pick any of her postcards they wanted and one was of a special spot where we ate that had a dream catcher over it. I might have even shared that image several weeks back. The girls were so in awe over Aqua
and her paints that Aqua gave them to the girls claiming she had two sets. I don't know if this young lady could ever know what a gift she has given them for they were thrilled beyond words. We would get an update on Raddick a few of the
guys here tonight said they stayed where we dropped him off yesterday and that when they arrived he was under covers shivering and sleeping and that today when they left he was sleeping. So our thoughts are with him hoping he beats this quickly
as there is a Camino to be walked and we really would like to see him in Santiago!
