Day 65 Beach after Llanes to Halloween in Ribadesella

We loved where we ended up sleeping last night, I think we were asleep at eight thirty. We didn't know where we end up, we wanted to pass Llanes and got about ninety minutes after it when I was willing to spend anything for a place to crash. We walked up on a small beach with a restaurant we assumed was closed for the season and the huge porch called our names. Great place to sleep but super windy and tons of fog with condensation, this covered porch was just perfect.
This is what we woke up to...

Raddick woke feeling sick he wasn't sure he'd make it to our destination tonight but he really wanted to spend Halloween with the kids as they are so excited! We picked Ribadesella as our Halloween place to stay even though one of my favorite auberges is two hours before it. Manfred and Bridget are the owners of Casa Belen in Cuerres and I remember them welcoming me one evening as their only pilgrim. On the forums they are always spoke of for their hospitality and wonderful place to stay.
Raddick tried his hardest to stay with us but about three hours into our walk he realized he couldn't go further. He has a stomach bug I think, he's like a child to me and it was hard to leave him behind knowing he was sick.

Saying good-bye to Raddick, we love you and hope you feel better. He will be breaking off to do the Primitivo so we are not sure we will see him again...

We walked on with a good pace knowing the kids wanted to get to town to celebrate Halloween not really knowing what the celebration would involve.
Some of our walk...

During our walk we ran into Johnas, Emmanuel and a new guy ( to us) Steve. Steve travels the world doing adventurous travels and we spoke a lot about Kilimanjaro, a trip that I have wanted to do December 2017 or January 2018.

We stopped in Cuerres so I could hug Manfred and Bridget, I was thrilled they were there and they spoiled the kids with Halloween candy and hugs. They are the owners of Casa Belen and have a sweet chapel open in their backyard...

We then walked on to a pension that they recommened that was beyond perfect! For 75 euros we stayed in a nicely furnished, two bedroom apartment with a well equipped kitchen. It was exactly what we needed. The kids put on their Halloween masks and walked around outside and we had a wonderful Halloween evening and dinner. Their sushi costumes will have to wait till next year....
