Heading to Bretagne!

Last night we struggled on where to stop and set up our hammocks, we even entertained a campsite as time was burning away and we were tired. We didn't really want to stay at a campsite for several reasons, we are enjoying wild camping and were not certain how hammocks would be handled at a campground since we needed trees.
My goal, only based on position on the map was Vannes. In the past When in Bretagne we go to Quimper but it seemed alittle too far West for our schedule. We drove to Vannes and carried on.... About two villages away I took a right turn where we saw a bike path and figured that this might be the spot. This was our first night with reservation and anxiety, probably because of the time it took to find it. As we got out of the car Karsh noticed this...
That is a Camino sign, it is specifically for The Camino de Santiago, The pilgrimage for St James. My blog is named for these way markers, " she follows shells" and I think my banner on my blog is of these different kind of way markings, we follow these to Santiago. The border of France and Spain has kind of been determined in modern times to be a good start of a Camino however in Medieval times it was known to start from your home. That there is a way marker here where we decided late at night to stay was clearly a wonderful sign for me! I have had several such signs this trip but this one came when we needed it. So here on the Western part of France, in Bretagne we are literally camping on the path of the Camino tonight, the path that pilgrims would take if coming from Northern France or maybe even more Northern than that.
