We can't complain, we have been blessed with gorgeous weather. Today the rain continued....
Our minds are drifting to the Camino, the kids seem eager to start now, it has been years in the planning ( almost three). I always wanted Aynsleigh to be a part of this and originally planned to do it last year, a 35 day Camino. She didn't seem confident she could do it and I had to follow her lead. Thankfully we did this as this year we were able to pull off four months and Aynsleigh is without a doubt as ready as ever for this adventure. I decided a few weeks before departure that the most important role would be carrying our baguette, our French bread, our food, she is pretty set on being in this role.
We took down out wet hammocks and we hadn't been in the car long when a sign on the side of the road for the next village caught my attention. I found myself taking the exit and so thankful that I did. We ended up in a great town called La Roche - Brevard that had an artisan village, beautiful boats and was very quaint. The highlight for me was the artisan village. Most of the shops had workshops in them. These studios were built within the walls of old stone buildings and some of their floors were part stone and smooth wood. The area was brilliant!
This cool gal made glass beads...
I fell in love with everything in this artist's studio...he shared his portfolio and it was so wonderful...check out his sweater with a spider...he was too cool! VIncent Farinal is his name assuming there is a website with his works.
He made many of the numbers on the houses in this artisan village, a wonderful touch!
This was over his door, though not made by him...
So this was funny, the town has a nice marketing campaign where there are posters up crediting its atmosphere, they are hung from wood structures, resembling easils . We were just about to sit for our picnic and the kids all yelled out that one of them had me on it ( obviously not), but they made me pose for a picture beside of it, complete with untamed camping hair! It was pretty humorous ( see below)...
