It really was a win win situation, two nights in an awesome hostel and heading counter clockwise from its location and back. That means we don’t have to carry our packs today either!!!!
You’d think the packs are a huge burden but honestly you do start missing them, and we noticed we don’t seem to go too much faster without them.
I probably over indulged for my birthday, it was yesterday and Steve told the girls to make sure we go to a nice restaurant and we did do lunch yesterday BUT when the opportunity presented itself for us to eat dinner in Arrifana at O’Paulos on the cliff overlooking the ocean I decided that maybe I could splurge for a nice dinner and use my birthday token on that!
It was so windy!!! We met a nice Englishman who said, “ it sure is blowy”. He then gave us the run down on what to order. Then back on our route and back to our comfortable hostel.

We
didn’t order breakfast that our hostel would provide, we had our own
goods. It was a pretty set up though and recommend this place and town
to all!
A “ wild Portuguese llama”!!!!! Just kidding, this beauty was behind bars with others and since we had no backpacks today we had no food offerings. We were bummed, and it appeared to not believe us....
No photo can capture how beautiful the flowers and even the weeds are here on our paths.
We
made it, to the stage that we should have been at last night but chose
to pass to our established accommodations. No regrets, this actually was
a good way to do it!
Where we met our English friend!
He said,” it sure is blowy”... and then referred to us as “ from the colonies”.

Dinner- amazing!
The sun was going down when we wandered back into our home away from home... it was nice returning to a hostel we already knew.
This castle/fort ruins sits above the town with an adorable maze of white buildings leading you down the hill.

We did stop up near the church for a coffee and pastry with sweet potato, this area is known for sweet potatoes.
