Day 37 Navarrenx to Eglise d'Olhaiby

Great sleep in bungalow, made a super dinner of spaghetti and meatballs with hot chocolate. Great spot, great bungalow, great sleep!
We would leave late as we wanted to check out the town with its little passages through the fort walls.

Today was a great day of walking, tons of layers to it.  However, I totally misunderstood the end point and when we got to our town looking for the church we were going to stay at we still had an hour and a half to go. We would arrive at ten, the walk was necessary as there was no stopping point before it. I had to cheer us on. We had everything on our side otherwise.

We had a late start, we slept in, we slept well, we ate well and we were on a trail that needed our headlamp to look for marks but there were no cars to worry about. We dug deep!!!!!!! The biggest demand yet as we were not expecting to walk this late but we did it. We arrived to a closed church but an overhung patio where we could sleep. We were cold but sheltered... And lived to tell.
We could not get in the church but I love this picture taken through a literal hole in the door!!!

There were hunters out, we are seeing a lot, it is so strange to be walking and then see a hunter with gun and dog feet away from you. There is an obvious respect between pilgrim and hunter though.

This will be obsolete one day...

Animals everywhere...

Dog on the blog, a hunters dog that clearly has worked himself today...
