Day 36 Sauvelde to Navarrenx

Having trouble with format in today's blog so I hope this works. To important not to mention last night. Maureen and Frank had referenced a gite in this town and we pushed to get there, a gorgeous but very tiring walk in the end. We were trying to decide if we should savage camp or camp in the garden of the gite, immediately we saw the opportunity to camp along the river, in fact the perfect spot!!!!

We went to eat and fortunately ran into two men who were eating there. I knew it was expected to rain tomorrow but he checked his wifi and said it is expected to rain from 4am to 8 am, that would really change things. I have never been more tired this trip as tonight. Reichen and Karsh instantly put up hammocks and nubes ( tent over the hammocks) and crawled in knowing it would rain and hoping it would be gone in the morning and that I would not be held prisoner in my hammock.

Right when I was falling asleep Reichen enthusiastically came over and said he and Karsh found an amazing shelter, very close to us. Possibly built for pilgrims as this area seems so pilgrim friendly. It was huge, he hung our hammocks in there from beams and thank God as in the early morning it thundered, lightening and poured rain as hard as I have seen in awhile. The rain started at about seven and I remembered they said it would last four hours so at eight I urged everyone to go back to bed. We stayed up about an hour and talked, laughed watched the rain with the best view and fell back to sleep till noon!!!!!!!!!

Our view from the shelter, great way to watch a deluge of rain!
The kids had a great time collecting slugs and snails and made hotels for them.
An egg?...
Pretty house with a place for pilgrims...
When the boys walk ahead they leave us notes of encouragement ...
Tonight's town would offer us a pilgrims mass, a little get together with munchies and a lovely bungalow splurge at the campground!
Tonight's dog on the blog is a puppy, Locks! From Goldielocks!
Owned by the campground employee
