Good walk today to Conques a splendid Medieval town where we have decided to take a rest day.
A highlight of the day was meeting Enayet and Patricia, a gorgeous American couple who said they had hoped to meet us. We were stopping to make a lunch and they were just finishing theirs. Neat people! They were staying put, we were moving on but they stayed looking at us till we were out of site, I found huge comfort in them, you just know they are special to the World!
Gorgeous churches today, open for us to go in and say a family prayer , holding hands together in front of the alter by ourselves, I love these moments...
An hour away this handsome fella sprinted hee hawing at us!!!! Fell in love with him and fed him, how can you not?
Ughh rocks....this makes arriving to the nights destination even more welcoming...
About twenty minutes before hitting the town we walked through a tunnel of butterflies!
I carry rocks with special thoughts and prayers and lay them where I feel right. Each of these had a prayer attached...
We arrived to the Abbey to check out who was there and planned to save money and head to campground but Friar Cyrille prompted us to sleep in their garden, the most wonderful little spot. We walked around town, caught up with John-Michael and picnicked with a young beautiful gal from Paris in the Abbey garden. Then the doors opened up and the volunteers brought us food left over from dinner! Fish, potatoes, two desserts... We are such fortunate pilgrims. I left a nice donation in the donation box. After dinner was the most amazing experience at the cathedral. It is Romanistic and stunningly beautiful. As the service for pilgrims was in process Friar Cyrille announced there was an American family among us, we walked forward and I could not contain the tears, I am so so proud of my children who appear to be loved everywhere we go. After the service we took a tour of the cathedral and a young tour guide agreed to meet us tomorrow to discuss the architecture in the church. Her name is Sonya and she is delightful! Then the night was topped off with organ music and ended with a friar playing, " The House of the Rising Sun" in this huge beautiful church on the organ.... Truly magical!!!!
Super high ceilings!
Dog on the blog was a hoot, came tearing down the road with her two amingos and then just dropped and rolled over showing her belly. We joked," dead dog on the blog".... What a cutie!
She's alive!!!
This fella begged me to notice him...
