We woke up so happy today! Uncle Jordi would be joining us for the duration of our trip. We met Jordi when I brought five of my children on our family Camino a year and a half ago. He quickly became one of the most special people in our lives!
Upon waking this morning and packing my bag,it became clear that when the girls grabbed our clothes off the clothes line last night they accidentally took a lady’s shirt that resembled one of mine. UGHHHH - I’m well aware we pilgrims pack perfectly (or this far into the hike have shed what is not needed) and I knew this shirt might be worth its weight in gold to a hiker. I didn’t feel I could leave it there by placing it back on the clothesline because we were the last people to leave.... so the person would have no chance of getting it back... so I took it wondering how in the world will I find it’s owner. Honestly, it was a burden as I really wanted to get it into its owners hands.
We stopped at a wonderful spot for breakfast and got a real late start. Rain threatened all day...
The walk was nice with many quick stretches on the water and a picture with a fisherman. We ran into an American man whose first words to me in front of my daughters was,”Did you adopt them?”. Honestly some people are beyond stupid. When I said,” No” quickly and abruptly he actually asked, ”Where did they come from?”. I looked at him and said, ”Don’t embarrass yourself.....”
We got to a pretty beach with rocks and collected a few, lots of pretty sea glass too.
We had several good breaks today but couldn’t wait to see Jordi. Aynsleigh walked with her red nose in her pocket, a present from Jordi last year.
The last hour in Vigo was tough, through the shipyard area and lots of congestion. I’m not certain we were on the real Camino at that point.
Jordi taught us how to share our location via WhatsApp, so we were able to watch the two dots on screen become one. Aynsleigh wearing her red nose and Jordi wearing his!!!!
What an amazing reunion!!!
Jordi secured us all rooms at a nice little hotel and a great dinner and walk around Vigo!
