Day 12 - About two hours to Porto Covo and our beautiful Fisherman’s route is complete

I think I have an image of the full moon above us as we slept last night and the beautiful tree that grabbed our attention to this little space to hold our hammocks. Using the hammocks on this route wasn’t easy. There were only few opportunities to get strong enough trees to hold them, at a distance that would work and with no lower branches to impede us. When we saw this opportunity we grabbed it!

I hope the pictures of the latest terrain do it justice, my feet are not happy. The girls seem to be fine, I am clearly the weakest link on this trek.

The waves have been huge and thunderous sounding. I’ve gotten great images of the fisherman literally risking their lives on these cliffs.

Today we would reach Porto Covo, everyone was out and enjoying! We had a nice ice cream chatted with some people we had met earlier and glanced at the bus schedule. We had about fifteen minutes to run to the bus station ( platform) and catch a bus to Lisbon. It wasn’t really what we had planned but we all voted to do it!

While on the bus I called a hostel called This is Lisbon, the wonderful man on the other end of the phone reserved us a room and we returned to the hustle bustle that we embraced.

I knew the Rota Vicentina would be beautiful! It exceeded anything I could imagine. The route is not difficult though I found the last stage to be very hard on my feet possibly due to my shoes. The food was amazing, every accommodation was awesome! This will forever hold a special place in my heart!
Now we head to Lisbon for one night and Sintra for two... we will fall so much in love with our place we will stay for three and even then wanted to stay longer.

We still have many miles ahead of us!
A little rest and the Portuguese Camino from Lisbon is calling!

More pics...

If you hear me complain about my feet I think this is the reason
