The sun was out and off we went. We arrived to San Sebastian and were thrilled it was a Saturday as I love how the Spanish celebrate on weekends. We had a late morning snack of pinchos. The kids loved the opportunity to stand in the bar picking the pinchos they wanted.
We
bought a pack of Oreos to eat in Orio, the picture is too dark to
appreciate, but they were enjoyed in the tourist office which has a
lovely exhibit to pilgrims.
My plan was to arrive in
Zarautz and stay, but I really wanted the kids to experience the Spanish
nightlife. I've shared this opinion and observation alot but what I
love about Spain is a couple can go out for dinner or a drink and take
their kids who typically appear to be feet away kicking a soccer ball
while the couple can gaze lovingly into eachothers eyes. There doesn't
appear to be the seperation of date night from children. I love this.
We walked around Zarautz looking for the hotel I stayed at last year as their attached restaurant had great Pinchos. We found it complete with festivity!

We decided after a fun evening to continue
on to Getaria, my favorite little coastal town on the Camino. Maybe I
should say I love the town as I dont know enough to have a favorite town
and this Camino has certainly convinced me there is something in each
spot that is a favorite place to me.
We found a covered spot near the beach and set camp...
A long and beautiful day!
Love notes from the kids in the donation box to go along with my donation...
Our days discussion would drift back to how wonderful our day was yesterday and how we were so happy we stopped. Actually every day is like that, each day we are so appreciative for the opportunities we have had on this trip and the people we have met. These past few days have been so very special.
Today moments...
A man in the woods collecting mushrooms!
