The kids played on a trampoline (which scared me to death as I fear injuries that could end our Camino), and the other playground obstacles. Karsh was happy to make friends with a Magpie, a black and white bird that I remember from my childhood. I remember being fascinated by them because my mom said they collected shiny objects. Both Karsh and I were pretty convinced she was injured as she flew low. I told the campground owner and evidently this bird is well known in the area, lives at a house and visits often, they feed her pizza and she walks up their arms to get it. They said she has no injury which made me wonder does she act? On day two Karsh was less fascinated with her as she wanted pieces of his jacket and was pecking his knee.
I went to the small grocery and spent much too much on some basic items. These small town groceries are way more than super marches (markets), and I had some buyer remorse when my bill was 50 euros knowing I fed an army for days for 60 last week. I did buy four pizza that we had in our little trailer. I didn't realize we had no stove so cooked them in frying pan and then turned them upside down. The topping fell off but the kids liked them cooked in the pan and then put on the pizza.
We also took advantage of the stove top to make chocolate milk leaving enough to have in the morning before we start walking.
We stayed here two nights because we thought it was going to rain Tuesday and Wednesday night...it never did rain Wednesday and we all agreed we could have walked today in the on and off again rain had we known it wouldn't rain. We did enjoy this stop though!
