Day 15 - Figaec to Holy City Rocamadour by train

"Mom wake up it's raining"!!!!
I'd hear this with about an hour to go of sleep. Remember we were going to sleep in? We all bounced out of our sleeping bags and packed quickly! It only drizzled and oddly it gave us some fun energy! We had planned a day of nothing really big and went a totally different path!
We packed, ran to the campsite restaurant for me to grab some coffee and headed back to Figac. We were excited to see it during the day as we had strolled its streets last night looking for the perfect place to eat. Spirits were high today and the kids went on and on about their dinner last night.
Due to the rain which would come and go we were out early!
We hit the tourist office where the young lady suggested many wonderful things in town to enjoy. Years ago we did a study on the Rosetta Stone ( not the language course, the actual stone) and even read a book about the man who deciphered it. It ends up he is from this town and due to this much of its hoopla is about Egypt as it was located in Egypt by Napoleans men but now resides in the British Museum. We hit a wonderful grocery store where we stocked up on all of our usual groceries.
This is our typical purchase, we are lucky there are so many of us as no pilgrim would dare walk with a jar of mustard, but if divided by six people we can travel with a nice feast.
Jambon, cured ham
Sausisson, a dried salami
Baguettes, French Bread and a lot of it
Fromage, Cheese and several kinds
Dijon mustard
Samari sauce ( similiar to mustard)
Madeline cakes for breakfast
Chocolate filled crepes
Orange juice
Chocolate bars
Peanuts
A box of icecream where you can get six of them for the cost of one purchased a few feet away at a tourist trap. So sometimes this means icecream early in the morning.
The tourist office suggested a train trip to Rocamadour, a Holy City, that for centuries has had its own pilgrimages to there. Our train ticket would be at two thirty and we had plenty of time to picnic lunch in the rain at a store front that was closed, buy the three youngest little handmade stuffed animals for their backpacks. Visit a neat reproduction of the Rosetta Stone and enjoy the city. We ran into Patricia and Enayet, love these two, and are missing Maureen and Frank... Our Camino family is ahead of us we are certain and this trip to Rocamadour would possibly convince me we might not cross paths again, atleast on pilgrimage here. This is always a sad realization.
Our train trip was wonderful and at a surprising discount. Forty minutes and I think five euros each!!!!
We would get off the train and walk four kilometers to a tourist site with camping! It would keep us one kilometer from Rocamadour. Our campground was fabulous, and the young lady gave us about fifty percent off, no site has done this. We saw hardly any pilgrims, all tourist, but we were happy and content. Kids swam in the pool and we relaxed. We would hit the fairy tale looking Holy City tomorrow!
Tristan Ioves all things Yugioh...
Icecream much too early, but when a grocery store presents itself...
Where to picnic in the rain, at the entrance under the awning of a store closed for lunch...
Yes he slept high in the tree, I was terrified but he insisted!
Rocamadour one kilometer away, would be visited the next day...
Dog on the blog...
I loved this pooch, loved her ears her gray and everything about her, she had just chased a cat up a tree and watched as the campground gathered around to bring it down...

A great day!!!
Relaxed and happy!!!!
