Day 21 Les Mazuts to Cahors

Wonderful shorter than usual walk all along the River Lot. Reached the big city of Cahors and it is such a pilgrim loving town we called it a day. Rain was coming and we needed to batten down the hatches!

I needed coffee, I get strong caffeine withdrawal headaches and my head was pounding and I felt sick. A coffee did the trick. Beautiful cathedral with lovely lady stamping credentials. A pilgrim welcome center going over the bridge to Cahors, so precious and two volunteers making hot chocolate and serving up cookies to the children. They said 80 pilgrims checked in with them today. I'm not certain where they are we only passed one today. However, pilgrims come to town check in, shower, wash clothes and hit the streets and then look like tourists.
Found a super market that always excited the masses and we are equipped as supermarkets close Sunday's at noon and are closed on Monday. More importantly days can go by before given the chance to buy food not sold in a restaurant.
New foot care cream purchased, new sandals purchased for two kids and a special Philly chicken veggie wrap bought.
Camped in the rain and they offered us a shelter where clothes are usually washed but it is a part of campground closed for the season. We slept well.
These guys were everywhere, not too welcomed by us but we survived
Rain rain please go away!!!!
Path

This little bee was dead but pretty, Bronwyn made it a nice spot to Rest in Peace...

Dog on the blog...
This very old pup reminded me of my old Spinnaker who died about eight years ago, my first big girl dog who I loved dearly ( she was at our wedding)...
She also reminded me of one of my best friends dogs, Cinnamon...
This pup tried to be bossy but was so old that when its younger sibling whizzed by it to bark it almost lost its footing and collapsed. Though its pride would not show it...
