Vila Cha to Esposende

I forgot to mention the wind yesterday!  It was pretty fierce, we had heard Urma abandoned the coastal route due to it and headed out on the central route. Our minds were possibly still in Porto, it was hard to leave.

I think our campsite is exactly what we needed though! We slept well! We were about an hour and a half shy of the expected stage, however not one person from our Camino friends seemed to have made it to the marketed stage ending.

I would take a huge fall today right upon entering into Esposende. I’m not certain why, there was nothing I tripped on I think my feet just got tangled together. It was so weird, such slow motion... honestly whole situations were actually going through my head between the start of the fall and impact. It was from a curb so I fell into the street. Anyone who has fallen with a backpack knows it’s hard to get up! The girls and two pilgrims came to my aid. We immediately crossed the bridge into the charming town and a bar on the water looked so inviting. I’m not certain I would stopped if it were not for the fall, but thankfully we did!

We spent close to two hours with four guys passing one guitar among them singing songs. One even looked up Brown Eyed girl to play for me upon request. A highlight of our Camino! Another played the drums using a Pringle chip container. When we got up, they took a longer trek on the coast going south, while we followed way markers. We might regret losing this wonderful happy crew and hope to meet them again. They seemed to be taking their time and enjoying every step and stop!

We would make a longer trek than it sounded like they were planning. We stopped in yet another amazing hostel called Hostel Eleven! It was beautiful, modern, clean with a great husband and wife team and receptionist. A great night’s sleep again and a wonderful place to lay our heads!
