PORTO! Hostel Rockin’ Porto!

It was like being reunited with old friends arriving to Porto! We are with Bruno and Sophia at Rockin’ Porto! We stayed here after our last 2016 Camino, when it was all done and we rented a car. Back then we had just finished walking for three months and had not been in a car. So we all had to pull over and throw up throughout the drive. 

Upon arrival I couldn’t even move! We didn’t get out and experience Porto the way we should have. We did know, we’d be back!!!!!!

A long walk on rocky pavement and some Roman Roads!  It is really hard on the feet but I’m getting use to it!!!

We did wake to a nice breakfast and enjoyed Melissa company before we set off. 

One of the funniest things happened. About an hour after starting to the right was a black and white dog that reminded us of our dog Wheeler. This dog was hilarious. She acted so guilty, wanted loving but refused to totally surrender and come within arms length of me. It was a passive shyness, submissive way of being but also controlling as if insisting we beg for its attention. She’d army crawl to us literally dragging her back legs, and right when near would turn around and spread her distance from us. She’d then act like she was too busy eating a piece of bark to come, and then would roll her neck on the ground all at the same time coming closer and backing up. She was a ball of nerves. We again surrendered our lunch meat and goodies which took about twenty minutes to give to her. We laughed so hard. At one point I said I wished this was on video and both girls assured me they were already capturing it.

A few hours later I get a text from Melissa saying she almost took a dog home ( oking) that bonded with her and wouldn’t leave her alone. I said,”send me a picture” at which time I sent a picture of  “my” dog. She said it was the same dog!!!!!!!

   
So this nervous girl followed her!!!! and danced nervously for me!!!! An absolute hilarious pup!!!!!

Arriving to Porto was great!
Tons of energy, awesome food trucks! 
Walking the busy streets with backpacks was a workout!

We were so happy to see our hostel and to be greeted by Bruno and Sophia!!!! For eighteen months when I think of comfort, true comfort I think of their hostel after our long Camino. I think of their baby powdered smelling linens on the bed, I think of hanging out in our jammies and playing songs of our past! The sheets still have the same product and smell!!!!
We slept great!!!!
