Alvaiázere to Rabacal

I’m behind on the blog, and fear that I don’t capture some of our most accurate feelings of the day because of this. I’m having to go through pictures just to remember it rained most of the day. The sun is predicted to come out any day and to stay out for several days. We’ve been itching to sleep out under the stars but can’t with all this rain.

We had some special moments today. A puppy peaked out of an abandoned building with its mom and of course we did what we always do... gave them our lunch and groceries of meat and cheese. They were really cute. Near by was a man who would later share (I think) that they were his. He was busy removing wax from the screens in bee hives. He was really proud to show us a peacock, but the puppy and mommy were way more exciting to us.

My feet are feeling way better! I finally feel like I have my Camino groove. The girls would share how worried they were before and how away from ear shot from me they spoke about needing to do what was best for me. I hope my ankle/heel pain is behind me. From everything I pulled up on the internet it sounded like it was here to stay but I feel better!!!!

Another beautiful walk, I captured some pictures where the rain actually looks inviting.

We stayed at O’Bonito, and I will announce that it clearly has THE BEST SHOWER OF ANY CAMINO!!!! Hot, huge shower head!!! Amazing!!!!

This sweet place even drove out to us trying to get us in their car for the remaining mile or so, of course we declined, then they offered to take our bags, which we of course declined. They seemed confused by our stubbornness. What a beautiful woman who runs this place! She has a wonderful place! Wonderful restaurant that sells the locals bread and cheeses. Her daughter offered my girls a pizza. Tonight we are surrounded by several pilgrims. The French couple from way back at Paulas on night three, a new French couple who met several years ago on the Camino and got married! Our little Camino bubble, family is here... we would get to catch up with Urma a nice gal from Lithuania. She’s an environmentalist and talked trees with the girls. Another great example of beauty for my girls!

We had a great night sleep!
