Hanging out in Le Puy

Just a few pictures from Le Puy, a pilgrimage destination in itself, it’s the third oldest pilgrimage route after Jerusalem and Rome. I would come to find out it had three jubilee years in the 20th century, a jubilee year is defined as a year when the Feast of the Annunciation coincides on Good Friday, in the 21st century there are two, 2005 and 2016. The kids and I hiked in 2016!!!! The next one isn’t for 150 years. Le Puy is an ancient town with rocky peaks and a volcanic landscape. The cathedral boasts a statue of the Black Virgin and my book says,” she plays an important part of the life of the cathedral”. There is another Black Madonna on the Norte, seen in day one while in the Pyrenees.
