I can’t believe I laughed off 16 kilometers yesterday and am just thankful that I listened to Cristina and Ceu with their suggestion to stop at Quinta da Burra!
We got a late start knowing our walk was short. We went by the church, met the priest, a lovely guy who gave me an ointment for my ankle. He took a selfie of all of us and the picture means the world to me!
Maria Rita, walked us up over the train station to our path and continued to blow us kisses and wave until we were out of sight. I actually had tears in my eyes waving bye to her.
As we approached our destination people were standing outside of their homes welcoming us. This path, this Camino has the nicest people on it! A man stopped us on his bike to tell us of Quinta da Burra, where I shared we already had reservations. About 15 minutes from arrival, the lovely owner named, Paula, came hiking towards us making sure we were OK. We would arrive exhausted, just from fighting the wind! I was so happy this was a short stage, I was in so much pain.
Paula was just amazing!!!! I instantly knew that once again we had landed in a special place among another Camino angel!
We were greeted with fresh orange juice, a gorgeous room, dinner being cooked and a true artisan feel within these walls. Paula is an architect and her vision and everything she did was beautiful!
There is a French couple here and we all had an amazing dinner together! While eating the phone rang and it was Maria Rita from yesterday, making sure we made it here OK!!!
