One cloud in the sky!!!
Yesterday when we walked into Monistrol d'Allier we ran straight for the water. It was so cold but once in it was the best feeling. We'd return to that spot to put up our hammocks, I did not sleep well, not certain why. Normally I am so exhausted in the Camino that sleeping well is not a problem. Karsh has abandoned his hammock the past two night and sleeps with his safety blanket, silver side down and promises it is the best sleep.
We ran over to Pain du Sucre, Sugar Loaf bar for my coffee... The kids are collecting their stamps, needed to prove our walk in Santiago from Le Puy.
Today was uphill from the start, as we walked out of Monistrol a bar owner ran in to get friends to come outside....
" Mary Poppins" he yelled enthusiastically
As he pointed to me. It took me a few seconds but I did have my umbrella up for hiking and was wearing my Macabi skirt, if the Honey Badger wore a skirt it would be this.
In this image I look tall and skinny ( hardly), I planned that image correctly as other times of the day I could look short and stubby.
They were so nice gave the kids their stamps and we were off.
Uphill to this previous chapel that we could see lit last night far below.
Finding water sources that are " potable" are of major importance on days like this...
Praying at crosses...
Cows on parade...
Siblings helping siblings adjust pack all day long.
We met a great Scottish couple (Frank and Maureen) who at the end of the night we would have dinner with. They stayed in a place with a kitchen where we cooked pizza, pesto and broke out the bread and a little vino.
We didn't know where we would lay our heads this evening but I wasn't worried. We ended up backtracking out of town to the top of a hill with monuments shaped from tree trunks, we slept Karsh style since no trees and all slept super!
This was breakfast served in the morning.
Dog(s) on the blog...
...and these ears...
